And we’re live
Here we go. The long hinted at first podcast. I didn’t do too much editing, and recorded it in one take, so you are getting all the blips and mistakes. Maybe as time goes along, I’ll clean up the production process. The one thing I need to figure out is background recording. I could not access all the links and information I wanted to discuss since I had to stay in the recording window. As I learn more about podcasting and embedded media, I am sure the presentation of the podcasts will improve as well. For now, you’ve have to live with the low tech approach.
So what are the relevant links for the first bbgm podcast
- business|bytes|genes|molecules
- Talking open science at Ignite Seattle
- Bio::Blogs #8
- Freebase - I blogged about this recently as have Roland and Konrad
- ProteomeCommons.org
- Tranche Project
- Tranche on bbgm
- Element List - Multimedia Friday
- Gapminder video
- Chris Surridge Video
- Hari Jayaram on YouTube
- Google TechTalks
Please let me know what you think. All suggestions about content are more than welcome. For now, this is an experiment. Hopefully as I get used to the medium, the quality will improve.

Finally I’ve found the time to listen to it :). Nicely done. I liked the topics. Regarding the time: 15 minutes are great. I personally filter out most of the podcasts that are longer than 20 minutes. Looking forward to the next one.

As an interested non-scientist, I think that at least a portion of the podcast should focus on the definition of terms and their pronuncation. Being a laymen, I find that never having heard how terms are prononunced or defined to be a major limitation when discussing these important topics with others.

Deepak, Congrats. I was catching up on my feeds and found that your podcast is up. I managed to listen to it today. It is pretty good. There is a background hiss sound which you may want to take care. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your comments everyone. I will experiment with a few things for the first few episodes, but the time shall stay about the same.
Krish … I noticed it too. Was too lazy to try and get rid of it.
