500???!!!

Apparently the post on Charles Simonyi was my 500th post. I set up a blog on blogger while stuck in a hotel room in Amsterdam on a cold, rainy day sometime in 2005. A few months later (New Year’s eve to be exact), I decided to do this seriously and started mndoci.com. It’s took 271 days to get to numero 500, 1.85 posts a day. Not too shabby

I abhor sentimentality, unless it has something to do with the blog, so thank you to everyone who reads it. I enjoy blogging more today than when I started, and that wouldn’t happen if it wasn’t for an audience that keeps growing and interacting with the blog. Last but not the least, there are a number of people I know, either in person or virtually, whom I would not have known if this blog didn’t exist. Makes it all worth it.

  • Congratulations on the landmark. I'd say 1.85 posts a day is pretty good, given your numerous other online activities!

The bioinformatics social network really has grown in the past year; let's look forward to plenty more activity from all of us.
  • Congrats on the landmark. Keep up the good work.
  • Congratulations on 500 posts, that's quite an accomplishment!
  • Thank you very much everyone. Now on to the next 500 :)

Neil ... believe me, there are times when I wish the earth would stop turning for a bit so that I could catch a breath or two
  • Deepak, we reahced that number nearly on the same day. :)
