The best science blogs

Yesterday, I added my list to the “best science blogs” call for nominations that The Scientist is running.

My list is below, based on how much I look forward to reading them (and I stopped at five)

1. Public Rambling – Pedro Beltrao
2. Discovering Biology in a Digital World – Sandra Porter
3. What you’re doing is rather desperate – Neil Saunders
4. In the Pipeline – Derek Lowe
5. The Loom – Carl Zimmer

About the second I hit enter, I realized that there are another ten blogs which I look forward to as much as the ones listed, but those were the first ones that came to mind, so I am sticking by them :)

Drop by and add your own list. Don’t want those Science Blog folks to dominate the show. I was very happy to see Bill Hooker’s name come up as well.

  • Actually, Jonathan was pointing to the Daily Scan from Genome Tech Online -- I had a teeny panic attack thinking that I'd have to change my blog name yet again!

I tried to leave a list in comments, but simply couldn't narrow it down. I read dozens of science blogs -- all have their different strengths, from hard science to publishing and back again via personal insights, ethical considerations, business aspects... How can I choose "favorites"?!
