Personal genetics heating up

23andme is not the only personal genetics play out there. Navigenics has now emerged out of stealth mode with the goal of bringing “genetics out of the lab to help you live a longer healthier life”. They identify themselves as a partner in defining and achieving personal health objectives. VentureBeat has an excellent write up that tells you a lot more.
Navigenics is supported by Kleiner Perkins and other heavyweights. There are some other interesting bits of information that make things juicy. Navigenics seems aligned with Affymetrix, while 23andme recently signed a partnership with Illumina.
The VB article has all the juice you need, so won’t add more here, other than to re-iterate that 23andme remains essentially in stealth mode. Their level of publicity is directly related to the marital status of one of the co-founders
