The day Friendfeed met Iron Maiden

Earlier this morning I saw the following tweet from Attila

That was the best way to start the day, and that is only partly because of the fond memories that are associated with The Number of the Beast. Almost immediately after Friendfeed announced support for rooms, I set up The Life Scientists. At that time little did I know that the room would become the starting point for the life science community adopting Friendfeed, not just as their favorite water cooler, but also for conference microblogging, reference exchange, and other activities.

Of course, the tweet started a discussion on Friendfeed. The most interesting titbit from that thread. I’ve always felt that the community has been fairly well engaged, well above the 10% one would normally expect. But Eric pointed out that almost 300 people had either liked, commented on or posted a thread to the room, with close to 200 having done so more than once. That’s excellent!! Matt Wood put it best in another tweet
