A little more on HealthVault

Fred Trotter comments on a post by Michael Zimmer on Microsoft’s HealthVault and Privacy.

Read Michael’s post first, and Fred’s later. I’ll comment on one part, HealthVault will allow “apps” to access data, but will show users a log of exactly what apps or people accessed the data . If this is limited to apps that help you push information to your health provider, or help you keep track of your own health, well and good. I am not sure there is the need to make personalized health records overly technical or fancy. This would be an excellent case for “less is more”, because less = better control and more security.
