Darn it. I only just found out about about Social Graph Foo Camp, although given my schedule it’s probably a good thing. Another weekend away from home and I might have not been allowed back in.
Why does this event interest me? Data portability, data interoperability, etc are essential components of the web, at least the web that so many of us want and envision. In science, where we have so many data types, etc, data access and interoperability become even more important. Some of us, most notably the folks from Nature are involved in some web efforts, but I’d like to see more science types being involved. So if they have a second one of these, hopefully I’ll get to attend.

I learnt about SG Foo Camp via Phil Windley’s interview with Scott Kveton about OpenID. A number of very interesting topics of interest to bbgm readers are covered, including the DiSo project, the future of Yahoo, data portability, social networks, etc.
