As many of you know, I have long been a fan of the Freebase concept, albeit with some misgivings on the business model. One of my hopes is still to use Freebase to develop query systems for biological network data (some day). Haven’t had the bandwidth and frankly the comfort level.
What will this mean for Freebase? That is a lot of money, so hopefully they can really ramp up. Traffic on the site is definitely not as high as it should be. I have some thoughts on where they could go, a topic for another day.
