MPIHMMER

Just say on scalability.org that MPIHMMER is now live. MPIHMMER is an open source, MPI, distribution of HMMER, Sean Eddy’s well known sequence analysis suite.

Hmm, maybe when I get time to play with EC2/MPI, this could be added to the list, although I suspect Michael’s going to beat me to it, especially given my tardiness.

  • HMMER is one of my all-time favourite pieces of software. The original release can be compiled for PVM (and can use threads) but since MPI seems to be the library of choice over PVM these days, this is good news.
