Your personal health: Trusera launches invitation-only beta

Seattle based Trusera announced the launch of it’s invitation-only beta site. Trusera, formerly PeerWisdom, seeks to use the wisdom of crowds to help people find relevant health information. According to the press release the approach is as follows

First, invite a group of people with experience in health and wellness. Encourage them to share their experience and invite others. Second, provide the community with the tools to personalize the health information they create and receive. Enable them to control their experience through filtering, privacy controls and personalization

The idea seems to be that of connecting people with relevant information, seeding the service with people who have some level of knowledge. In a way, this reminds me of Jon Udell’s post extending Jeff Jonas‘ theory; data finds data, then people find people.

I had the pleasure of seeing Keith Schorsch, the founder and CEO of Trusera give a talk on his quest for relevant health information and the happenings that led to the formation of Trusera at Ignite Seattle. His talk resonated with me at the time, and the direction that the health search and information business has taken over the past year only validates that.

How does Trusera compare to other services like iMedix, which I really liked at first glance? Over the next couple of weeks, I would like to take a deeper look into the offerings and provide some opinion. In the meantime, you can listen to Keith talk about Making Sweet Lemonade
