MyBio – A life science wiki

Of all the places in the world, I found this via one of the Adsense ads running on my site. MyBio is a life science wiki. After reading the MyBio FAQ, I am a little surprised it hasn’t shown up on my radar before. I wonder if anyone in the UK, which is where the wiki seems to have originated is aware of the site?

Nothing against adsense, but here it makes the Wiki almost unreadable.

And why should anyone contribute to this Wiki if those guys get the money? I don’t get it.

Excellent point. Just went back to the site and turned off adblock on my browser (which is why I did not notice the ads before). Should have noticed the part that said advertising as well. It is a strange model for a wiki. I know hosting companies, e.g. wetpaint, that have ad supported wiki environments, but this is a community wiki, so ads just don’t make sense.
